Janna Allen received her ballet
training under the direction of Maria Lyon (former Prima Ballerina, Stuttgart Opera Ballet) at the Glendale Ballet Center in Glendale, California for 9 years. As a member of the school's youth ballet
company, Janna participated in Classical Ballet and Ukrainian Character Dance performances throughout the local community for several years.
In 2000 Janna created Seraphim, a liturgical dance program at First Presbyterian Church of Santa Ana. As the Director of Liturgical Dance, Janna oversees training, choreography and performances for the program
whose members include children, youth and adults. As a teacher, Janna incorporates the Vaganova/Kirov method of Classical Ballet with the concept that every movement be essential as
even the smallest gesture has the power to inspire emotion within the observer. When proper technique becomes rote, the mind and body are freed to fully express their art. She values the opportunity to work
with the youngest students at Pacific Dance with the hope of helping them develop lifelong appreciation for music and dance. |
